Story
The Last Day of Retrograde (TLDR) is a feature film by first time director Lukas Sarnow (they/them). The film follows the story of Fetsy (Sarah Silva-James) as she, her boyfriend Skylar (Winston Wang), her love interest Brie (Samantha Alexa), and a several other friends as they attempt to secure a residence performing artist position at a gallery by putting on a last second show for the ages. TLDR is much more than that as it tackles both the teen suicide epidemic which hit the Palo Alto area in 2011 as well as the importance of LGBTQ representation and visibility.
TLDR puts gay and gender queer characters to the foreground, showcasing voices and stories that don't always get told. Additionally, the film is made by an extremely diverse team that bring many different backgrounds and visions to this incredible story.
